Dave Ferguson, pastor of Community Christian Church in Naperville, Ill., was gracious enough to send me a review copy of his new book The Big Idea: Focus the Message, Multiply the Impact and so far I’m about two chapters into it and love what he’s saying.
This book is, as the title suggest, about focus — a message that I think nearly every church could benefit from.
The back cover says, “Churches that bombard people with too many ‘little ideas’ can miss the BIG idea.”
So true … too often, I think we try to do too many thing … and go in too many different directions.
If you’ve read or are reading the book, I’d like to start a dialogue here about it … rate the book, give us examples of how you’ve used these principles, or how you WANT to use these principles … whether you agree or disagree with the book.
(Disclaimer: Of course, let’s all play nice and make this a constructive converation that benefits our churches and ministries.)
