Mark Batterson was kind enough to send me a copy of his book In a Pit with a Lion on a Snowy Day and after reading it I am truly grateful for his generosity. His book is insightful, inspiring, witty, and fun to read. His exposition of an obscure passage brings a man we know very little about into homes and most importantly, into our hearts.
Having spent a little bit of a time with Mark, he is living out what he’s writing about. He is chasing lions and encouraging everyone around him to do the same.
I think this book is refreshing. Too many books talk about what’s wrong with the church, people, the government, ________ (you fill in the blank) and offer no solutions. But this book challenges us to stop talking about what’s wrong and start making things right. For that, I’m thankful for having read Mark’s book!

Mark didn’t send me one for free so I went out and bought it….(That’s ok Mark..I know you can’t give one free to all of America) This book is really great. I have been recommending it to others and in ‘07 we will be covering it for our Sunday morning young adult bible study.
