I picked up Delivering Knock your Socks off Service and honestly expected to be wowed.. I wasn’t. It’s not that the book was bad, it wasn’t. In fact, it was very good. But it just wasn’t anything new. If you’ve read stuff by Ken Blanchard, John Maxwell, Jim Collins, and a few others then you’ve heard most of this.There is one idea that stuck out (it should because it’s the whole premise of the book): it’s that you are the company. The CEO isn’t the company, you are no matter where you are in the organization. In fact, the guy selling you a pair of pants might be more important to you that the designer or owner of the company, because one is involved in your transaction and the other isn’t.

The book made me think about the impressions that people get from every person who call Calvary Fellowship home. They are our church and the representatives of our church. If they live out what it means to follow Jesus, then they win, the church wins, and the kingdom wins. If we don’t live out what it means to follow Jesus, then we all lose. It renewed my sense of the personal responsibility that each of us carries as members of the body of Christ.
